Bay Breeze Patio Announces Celebrity Judges for 3rd Annual Eggs on the Beach Cooking Competition, Sept. 24, at Seascape Resort

Eggs on the Beach – MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla.—September 6, 2016–Bay Breeze Patio announces the panel of honorary judges for the 3rd Annual Eggs on the Beach Cooking Competition, which will be held at Seascape Resort on Sept. 24, 2016. This year’s group of culinary experts includes Lucy Buffett of LuLu’s restaurants; Chef Tim Creehan of Cuvee restaurants; Susan Benton, editor of 30Aeats.com; and Pat Embree, KCBS Certified BBQ Judge. Each cook team will showcase their delicious creations prepared on the Big Green Egg smoker/grill and the team of honorary judges will score the results in a variety of categories. In addition, the public is invited to taste all the delicious samples and vote for their favorites in the “People’s Choice” category. “Last year, we added a panel of expert judges and our cook teams enjoyed having culinary experts judge their creations,” said Wayne Paul, co-owner for Bay Breeze Patio. “This year, we’re pleased to partner with local experts with diverse backgrounds to judge the cook team’s culinary presentations.”

Lucy Buffett, also known as LuLu, and the official “Crazy Sista” of the Buffett clan, is a selfproclaimed gypsy rebel. As the little sister of singer Jimmy Buffett, she has many talents. One of her most notable gifts is her ability and love of cooking. Upon finding her dream harbor, a beautiful spot on Weeks Bay, Ala., she opened the original LuLu’s Sunset Grill in 1998. Almost two decades later, she now lists two LuLu’s locations, three cookbooks and a diverse line of LuLu’s and Crazy Sista products, among her many accomplishments.

Accompanying Lucy is the Gulf Coast’s Celebrity Chef Tim Creehan. As the owner of Cuvee Destin, Cuvee 30A and Destin Ice Market 30A, among many other ventures, Chef Creehan is an author, teacher, inventor and community steward. He was recognized as Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association’s 2015 Restaurateur of the Year and has been featured on a variety of television broadcasts, including a recent episode of Emeril’s Florida on the Cooking Channel. Chef Creehan recently partnered with Big Green Egg and has since added a Big Green Egg grill/smoker at his restaurants. He is now developing a series of new menu items, which he will unveil this fall.

Rounding out the team of judges is Susan Benton and Pat Embree. Benton is the editor of 30AEats.com and owner of GulfCoastRestaurants.com. 30AEats.com is a food and travel webzine, dedicated to sharing Southern Coastal family recipes, while showcasing all the Gulf Coast community has to offer. Pat Embree brings the “official” BBQ credentials. She is a KCBS Certified Barbecue Judge and a Florida BBQ Association certified judge. Embree has judged more than 25 cooking competitions around the country and has been selected as one of the judges for the World Food Championships to be held in Orange Beach, Ala. in November.
