If you are looking to a much-secluded area with only a handful of people visiting the beach, Princess Beach Access will be your go-to. Along with Eglin Matterhorn Beach Access, these 2 are the most secluded stretches of beach you will find from Pensacola to Destin. As a result, you’ll find no vendors in the area and will require a long walk from the parking to the beach. Shower/restrooms are not available as well so be prepared to walk/drive back to your place to shower.

O’Steen Public Beach Access

O’Steen Public Beach Access is a favorite among locals and well-informed visitors alike. It is located along Gulf Shore Drive and one of the best spots to reach Destin Jetties. It is a great place for those with a lot of beach gear looking to spend all day on the white sand! Keep walking towards the Jetties to find yourself in a much more quiet area. This access is fantastic because you can walk to the beach along the Destin East Pass or keep trekking a bit further and enjoy a much more quiet beach along the Gulf of Mexico to the east of the jetties.

Tarpon Street Beach Access

This beach access has nearby parking, but can be accessed on foot. The stretch of beach that you will find yourself on after traversing the boardwalk is serene with plenty of space to spread out. Expect crowds to be moderate to high at this location because of its accessibility and the fact that the neighborhood of Crystal Beach is close by. If you need a shower station to rinse off before heading back after a day at the beach, this location has you covered with a nice foot wash and outdoor shower available for use. This access is easy to get to, but parking is scarce from the early morning through the remainder of the day and there are around 18 steps down to the beach on this boardwalk.

Admission Fee: Free

Location:3300 Scenic Hwy 98, Destin, FL 32541, United States

Amenities: This access has a shower and a boardwalk to the beach, but there are no restrooms.

Parking: There are only two small parking lots of around 10 spaces each within walking distance. It is strongly encouraged to walk or ride-share to this access.
